Industry Pioneers Martin Keen and Harry Kubetz Join Earth Leadership Team
WALTHAM, MA, July 2009 — Expanding its leadership to support the steady and consistent growth trajectory of its business, Earth, Inc. – known for its premium health and wellness brand, Earth® – today announces two boldfaced additions to its management team. Renowned innovator and outdoor performance footwear designer, Martin Keen, joins the product team as Outdoor/Performance Design Manager, and Harry Kubetz has been appointed to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer.
Keen joins an award-winning product design team to focus primarily on the development of outdoor performance styles, a natural evolution of Earth Footwear beyond its current base of casual, active casual, and dress casual offerings. Keen brings with him an unparalleled repository of knowledge shaped by twenty years of industry design leadership including the conception, launch, and development of the successful Keen® line of footwear, a brand that is widely regarded as having revolutionized the outdoor performance shoe category. Keen will build upon Earth’s existing sustainability and technology platforms underscored by the brand’s trademark KalsØ® Negative Heel Technology®. As an innovator with a broad worldview, the addition of Keen sets the stage for the blazing of new trails at Earth®, a brand whose growth has been predicated on a similar spirit of innovation.
Kubetz joins the Earth, Inc. team as Chief Operating Officer. He injects a wealth of industry experience, most recently as Sr. Vice President of Operations for leading fashion brand, Kenneth Cole Productions. In his twelve-year tenure with the organization, the company experienced significant topline revenue growth, increased speed-to-market delivery, and dramatic expansion of its retail division. As Chief Operating Officer, Kubetz will oversee all key functional areas of the Earth® brand with an emphasis on integration and efficiency of operations, and the growth of global business units.
From Rhode Island and New York respectively, Keen and Kubetz will each be based at Earth, Inc’s global headquarters in Waltham, Massachusetts.
