Each and every pair of Earth® Footwear features a 3.7° incline that helps you strengthen and tone your body with your every step. Here are a few helpful tips to keep in mind as you experience Earth® Footwear for the first time:

The 10-Second Rule

  • While wearing the footwear on both of your feet, stand up slowly and stay stationary for ten seconds (you’ll feel an initial sensation of leaning back)
  • Take an additional ten seconds and allow your body to make natural adjustments (you’ll feel your weight shift over the center of your feet toward your arches)
  • During these ten seconds, you’ll also feel your head straighten, your shoulders roll back, your core muscles activate (as your spine and pelvis aligns), and your hamstring, quad, and calf muscles engage

Take Short Steps

  • With your body in a more natural and empowered position, take short steps and begin to walk (note: try to not look down at your feet)
  • Adapt to the new “rhythm” of walking in the footwear
  • Within a few short minutes, the walking motion will begin to feel very natural

Break-In Period

  • Beyond try-on, try wearing the footwear for one hour the first day, and then add another hour each day after that
  • Don’t be surprised to feel some recruitment and activation of muscles in your calves, thighs, core muscles and back … you’re feeling the whole-body benefits of Earth, and experiencing what it’s like to strengthen and tone the body through footwear, and burn more calories with every step.
